Memovox Parking ref 3161 snap back in steel, 1959 European jubilee edition with a Calibre 814 manual movement. The watch is in truly mint condition with a flawless dial, wonderful case and serviced movement approx. a year ago.. An authentic Parking is very hard to find and this is the real thing.
The Parkings were first released in 1958, the year of JLC’s Jubilee. They were only issued with the European dial (i.e., signed Jaeger LeCoultre, not LeCoultre). Some features for a correct Memovox Parking are:
– Cal 814 manual wind movement signed Jaeger LeCoultre (never came with an automatic movement).
– Movement number should fall within 1958-1965 range (there is a reference table in Zaf Basha’s book), this particular watch dates to mid to late 1958
– The inner dial is bigger than that of any other Memovox model
– Case should be either the ref 3161 (no inner case reference but distinct shape and snap back) or E856 screw-back (usually with inner case reference). The watch I have for sale is the ref 3161 snap back.
